As previewed here two days ago, today is opening day for Paper Boat Booksellers (6040 California SW) in Morgan Junction, so we stopped by for a look.
They’ll be open until 7 tonight. And on Friday night, their first author event:
Paper Boat is West Seattle’s first all-new-books independent bookstore since Square One closed nine years ago.
Wonderful to see a real bookstore again. I hope this is a trend, and that people will buy their books here instead of on Amazon.
Stopped in earlier–such a great selection, especially science fiction and fantasy! Super friendly staff. I’m so excited to welcome this shop into our neighborhood!

Stopped in today. What a great store with a wide assortment of interesting items in addition to great book selection. And with coffee and food next door……..
I stopped by after work and bought a book and tote. The store is well designed. Happy to support a local independent bookstore within walking distance of home!
Beautiful shop, awesome book selection and sweet gifts too! If you have not gone in yet – do so soon and bring your wallet and allow enough time for looking at everything- you will want to buy all the things!

What a treasure this store is! I went after work on Thursday and the store was busy! They happily ordered a book for me. Went again today with a dear friend and fellow bookaholic and purchased two more books. This will surely become a loved community fixture. Happy to support a local business.
