Thank you for the educational link about the Grebe and its foot— how interesting!

Well. That was an enlightening link about the “anus foot” (photo link). I don’t know if I should crack up or keep this perplexed look on my face. That is just bizarre.

Interesting information regarding the grebe’s leg(s) and feet. Thanks for the link!

WOW  Mark this is very interesting on the where the Grebe’s foot is located on its body and good to know if you see one on land…that it is not drunk and falling down…it’s just clumsy because of where its foot is located!

Ha ha !  I see I’m not the only one to find the grebe foot-under-wing behavior interesting.  That’s one of the coolest things I’ve read all week!  Thanks WSB.

Mark actually sent this photo last month with a couple other grebe photos and I chose a more-conventional-looking one to run at the time. This week, I’ve been going back through the files of photos he’s kindly shared that I hadn’t yet published … I’ve never seen this behavior but was glad to be able to find a link explaining it, as it was one of those photos that seemed to demand explanation! – TR

Thanks for sharing this great photo, WSB and Mark! Love the info about that crazy foot.

Count me as another one enjoying the grebe photo.

I feel like I’ve said this before, but I wish Curious Kidstuff participated in the shop late on Thursdays.

i can get shopping after getting home from work, and getting dinner for hungry kids.  the 7:30 – 9 time works this time of year, but they’re not open. I guess I’ll keep spending my dollars at Target and Amazon….

Sorry, comment time is over.
