11 WSB stories comprise the ‘top 10’ for most comments in 2015

Since WSB is more about “what’s happening now” and “what’s happening next” than “what happened,” we don’t do much looking back at the end of each year – except for what’s become a tradition: The top 10 “most-commented” stories. As we always note, the number of comments isn’t an indicator of how many people care about a story, how many people read a story, etc. – in some cases, there’s just nothing to say – but it’s a point of curiosity, so here we go with this year’s edition. It’s actually a top 11, since we had a tie at #8:

#10: ZATZ A BETTER BAGEL CLOSING, June 12th, 102 comments

#9: PORT TRUCK BACKUPS, September 15th, 106 comments

#8 (tie): SEATTLE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES STRIKE, September 8th, 108 comments

#8 (tie): SDOT TO REDUCE SPEED LIMITS, February 13th, 108 comments

#7: PETITION DRIVE LAUNCHED BY OPPONENTS OF 35TH SW RECHANNELIZATION, April 10th, 114 comments

#6: 116 SDOT’S FIRST ROUND OF POST-RECHANNELIZATION STATS, October 13th, 116 comments

#5: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL STRIKE, September 9th, 121 comments

#4: SCHOOL STRIKE UPDATE, September 13th, 122 comments

#3: 3 HOUSES ON FIRE NEAR MORGAN JUNCTION, April 30th, 137 comments

#2: WINDSTORM/POWER OUTAGE, January 18th, 140 comments

#1: FISH-TRUCK CRASH CLOSES HIGHWAY 99, March 24th, 141 comments

This is the first year that this many of the “top 10” (or 11!) were about transportation.

Folks need to tell Jack that Husky’s should carry fresh bagels… Perhaps he could wholesale them from Seattle Bagel Bakery or Bagel Oasis?

Ha ha! Great wrap up. I really really miss Zatz.

Great idea to have Husky’s carry fresh bagels! I second Bagel Oasis. I drove up there on christmas eve so that we could continue our christmas morning bagels and lox tradition.

I just read the fish story for the first time. Holy mackerel. This is a bit perverse, but I wish I’d been stuck downtown at happy hour with some of the well-informed, snappy commenters. Better still, I’m glad to call you neighbors. Happy new year!

Sorry, comment time is over.
