RECYCLING TOMORROW? Here’s the best time to take your stuff to Fauntleroy ‘Roundup’

9 am-3 pm tomorrow, it’s the twice-a-year event that gives you the chance to recycle, for free, what you can’t just put out at the curb – the annual Fauntleroy Church Green Committee-presented “Recycle Roundup.” If you haven’t already checked the list and sorted your stuff, take a look:

Every Recycle Roundup brings in tons of recyclables. That means hundreds of people. Organizers have one BIG word of advice to get your dropoff done in the least amount of time – GO EARLY. There tends to be a rush toward the end, so if you can get there in the first few hours instead, you’ll save time and be able to get going with the rest of your Sunday. The church is at 9140 California SW; here’s a map.

The list is blurry and no I’ve not been drinking.

I have no control over how Scribd displays it. It has controls for zooming (lower right). Or, you can also find the original at http://fauntleroyucc.org, link toward upper right of page.

Thanks Fauntleroy Church Green Committee for sponsoring this event! And remember cash donations are accepted to help the Green Committee continue their mission.

1 green planet isn’t a certified R2 or eStewards electronics recycler (or they don’t say they are) nor a member of E Cycle Washington, how does UCC know they don’t end up sending this stuff, directly or thru brokers, to a third world country where they open burn plastic and metal?

Ehyi, their home page states: “All recycling is processed entirely in the state of Washington. No processing work or material is shipped overseas.” Some elaboration here: http://1greenplanet.com/recycle.html

ok, i checked the list 3 times, and didn’t see vacuum cleaners listed under do or do not (recycle) anyone know? seems like if you can recycle lawnmowers, weed-whackers and air conditioning units, vacuums should be ok?

Hi Sam-C, when WSB first posted the event I emailed the crew to ask *specifically* about vacuum cleaners because they were not on the list. I was emailed an affirmative, they do accept them. So I’ll see you there with my old broken-down vacuum (among other items).
