    Couldn’t do it without Katie Meyer, who assists behind the scenes with labor-intensive tasks such as the calendar and has made all the restaurant calls the past few rounds …and thanks to the folks who did answer several open calls for “send us your info.” Often businesses will put it on their Facebook page or tweet it in the last couple days before the holiday but it really helps to have that info early, and in one place. We originally just did the coffee lists and then people started asking about restaurants; I remember one year just driving around ON Christmas looking for “open” signs – now THAT was inefficient …

  Just an FYI: We we’re at Safeway in Admiral yesterday and the bagger said they were only open until 5pm Christmas Day.

      …and we have verified that all three local Safeways close at 7 pm tonight and will be open 8 am-5 pm on Christmas Day.
