Save the date! September 22nd ‘Recycle Roundup’ at Fauntleroy UCC

If you spent today doing some pre-fall cleaning – we did! – you might be happy to hear that Fauntleroy Church has set the date for the next edition of its popular twice-yearly Recycle Roundup: Sunday, September 22nd, 9 am-3 pm. That’s when nonprofit 1 Green Planet will bring big empty trucks to the church at 9140 California SW and drive them away full of West Seattleites’ recyclables. Keep an eye on the church website for details on what they’ll accept (no charge – just drop it all off!).

I checked the church site as suggested and found no useful details about this event, including what will and will not be accepted. Their events page has ‘news’ about events 3 or 4 years old. Surely, someone in the congregation can maintain the website content.

Hi, Fauntleroy UCC keeps its website up quite well (we refer to it relatively often) and just have not posted this yet (though the event is mentioned on the News/Events page along with many others). “Watch” their site doesn’t mean it’s there now, or else I would have linked directly to it. Last time around, they went public with a list too soon, and it was changed at the last minute because of market factors for the recycling partner, so I believe that’s why it’s not yet out with more than two weeks to go. They also have another big event to get through first – the 2nd Time Sale the preceding weekend. – TR
