Been hearing the sirens for the last several minutes. Looked it up on SFD’s 911 page, describing “Assault w/weapons” :-(

Any description of the suspect or do they have someone in custody?

Christopher has just learned at the scene that there is a suspect in custody. Have added it to the story. – TR

It’s only a matter of time before someone gets killed with these random shootings, stabbings, car break-ins, and home invasions. What will SPD say then?

“argument between friends…” I think I’d prefer a better class of friends.

    With friends like these, etc.

Yes the Police are here to serve and protect but they can’t be everywhere every minute of the day and you shouldn’t blame them for everything bad that happens, you need to blame the people that do these bad things and hope that the Police can catch them!

I believe that most of it is their up-bringing my Dad always said treat people the way you’d want to be treated and I think these people just don’t care about anything but themselves!

With friends like that, who needs enemies?

We noticed an aid call at 2PM on the 9200 block of 17th and, when looking at that, noticed a call minutes later at 18th and Delridge, which is just a couple of blocks away from the 2PM call and one block away from the stabbing. All coincidence? That is a busy triangle.

People shouldn’t stab other people six times. Or one time.

Just a side note between Westwood and Safeway today, I saw an EMT, SPD, and SFD all out and about in the neighborhood grabbing lunch. Glad they cought some down time to replenish! Thanks for being around and visible, I can not imagine doing your job! Oh, and being easy on the eyes is nice too! :) thanks again, CD

So let me get this straight – when someone goes beserk and stabs someone multiple times it’s now SPD’s fault? Wow let’s make them the fall guy for everything wrong in Seattle. Roads? Spd doesn’t stop speeders. Schools? Yep, Spd. Get a grip. Hope this person is ok. West Seattle is a great community with a lot of awesome folk. Work with Spd not against them. Talk to the beloved mayor tell him to sign spd’s contract after sitting on it for years. Tell him to hire more police and bring staffing up to the 2010’s from
the 70s. And a thank you goes a long way.

Whatever SPD’s faults, to blame them, not the criminal(s) for crime(s) is absurd.
I’m just corny enough to still believe the police are our friend, as I learned as a child.
It’s a helluva tough job, and the great majority of the department does a fine job in the face of myriad obstacles.

I give a big thumbs up to the SPD, KCS, EMT & FD I think they do a great job especially with all the numbskulls in the world!

10 years ago I was living in the Admiral Dist. One morning I awoke to the sound of sirens and helicopters. I got up and looked out the back door to see plumes of smoke and the heard the sounds of crackling. Once out of the house I could see a house the block behind of mine almost fully engulfed. When I got to the street, I saw SFD firefighters carrying an older lady out of the house to an awaiting aid unit. I found out later on the news that she had passed away due to smoke inhalation. The next week I was at the grocery store and saw those same SFD firefighters shopping for the station. That was when I realized that these public servants are there for us.

There was an incident a few weeks ago in the same location and I couldn’t find any information other than it being a “medic” call. However, there were at least 5 police cars and a number of other emergency vehicles at the scene which made me think there was more to the story. Just wondering whether the two incidents are related. Very close to home. I hope the victim pulls through.

WTF?? I live on 17th b/w Barton and Cambridge. I was home during this time and didn’t see or hear anything. Are you sure of the location?

Is there a description available of the assailant?

There has been lots of drugs in and out of those units, I have a mother that has been trying to fine another safe place to live with her children. She has been down on her luck . I feel that the tenets there shouldn’t move I feel that they should stand together and drive those drugs out of there complex it may take time but you can do it. I am a single mom and I own a business,I had to deal with this kind of element, one will need to call the police every time you don’t feel safe, and it worked ,I called 3 times a day my neighbors called too , to get the help you so deserve and police cars driving throw , I have done that , the drug crowed is gone. I have lost business for the months that they were here but I was not diffeted. I am a single mom and a business owner , I won this round, and I know you can too.

Sorry, comment time is over.
