Countdown to Metro changes: Transportation fair tomorrow

Questions about RapidRide and/or route restructuring, all of which kick in on September 29, just one week from Saturday? Metro is one of the participants scheduled for a Transportation Fair at Greenbridge, 2-4 pm tomorrow, in the Wiley Community Center, 9800 8th SW (just south of Roxbury). Other groups and agencies will be there too, with information about a wide range of transportation options; they’re listed on this flyer.

driving home I noticed two securitas personnel at the southbound 35th and Avalon rapid ride station. are they involved or maybe they were just two guys on their way home?

My husband just went to this fair to try and get some answers from Metro about inconsistencies between published changes to our route (125) and the trip planner output. He described the issue, but no one there knew what he was talking about or could help find answers. Trying to to get accurate information from Metro has always been frustrating, but has been ridiculously so in the last six months.

I am sorry to hear that. I was actually thinking there might be value in trying to arrange an online chat or some kind of Q/A forum – maybe even in the WSB forum – before the changes hit in a week and a half.

And there may well be value! I’ve found it’s largely an issue of talking to the right person with the right knowledge at Metro. Actually tracking down someone like that can be the tricky part. With the contacts WSB has, though, and the potential for connecting with a large audience via an online chat or a Q/A forum, I’m guessing Metro would take care to have someone very well informed available to answer questions.

I have sent the question/suggestion to some fine folks with whom we often work at King County DOT/Metro communications and they’re inquiring. The potential value of something wider is that if one person has a particular question and gets an answer, it might help others who hadn’t even figured out who to ask … or who search for it later.

Sorry, comment time is over.
