Video: Viaduct demolition, the ‘other-worldly’ view

Sharing that link in a comment on our most recent aerial-view-of-demolition report, Lucas called the video “other-worldly.” We’d have to agree, as would the person who shot it, according to the description they used. Lauren e-mailed it to us in a BoingBoing link. As for the demolition itself – latest word from WSDOT is that they’re right on schedule. (But remember, driving life will be different when 99 reopens – so we’ll be covering next Monday’s commute closely too!)

I wish they’d ask for volunteers! I love demolition and it would be a good way to get the frustration of traffic out of your system.

Oh heaven knows, that would be cathartic. Liability issues come to mind, though!

The fact that they can’t say for sure what’s in the dust from that 50’s era concrete would give me pause before joining in the destruction.

That’s a really cool video! Kinda spooky and Halloweenish. It even looks like there’s a skull in the middle right before you press play.

That was from me! I thought it was cool to see on a national website.
