Almost forgot to share this weekend’s SDOT citywide traffic advisory, which includes two West Seattle events – the two-day Festival of India at Alki, and the Holy Rosary parish picnic. Read on for the full rundown:
The coming weekend, August 12 – 14, offers up community celebrations and sports events across the city. Sports events include a Seattle Sounders soccer match, Mariners versus White Sox baseball games, and the annual Danskin Women’s Triathlon. The community celebrations feature a wide array of interests from neighborhood spirit, history, heritage, and education to art, music, theatre, and food. The Seattle Department of Transportation encourages event-goers to consider leaving the car at home and trying one of the many alternate modes of transportation available – Metro Transit, the West Seattle Water Taxi, the Sounder commuter train, Link light rail, car pool, bicycle or even walking, if feasible.
