Followup: Longtime White Center fish store finds a new home

WSB/White Center Now contributor Deanie Schwarz, who broke the story that B & D Aquarium in WC had to find a new home fast, reports it’s official – the store has a place to go. It’s a site owned by the White Center Eagles; she first reported the possibility last Saturday. Deanie’s working on more details for a longer followup on WCN later today.

Thank you White Center Eagles for supporting a local small business who has given my kids much joy and education about tropical fish.

Thank you, Thank you, thank you White Center Eagles!! My first visit to White Center was to the B & D Aquarium over 10 years ago. I now live in West Seattle. Yes, they are quirky and authentic business model, but B & D Aquarium has measurable quality and thank you for recognizing it. More importantly for actively showing YOUR value to the White Center Business Community.

It’s so great to see White Center developing into one of the most interesting, internationally diverse neighborhoods in the Northwest!

I’m very happy to hear this, and it shows how a community can come together and make a difference. A big “thumbs down” to the callous new owners of B&D Aquarium’s soon-to-be-vacated building for forcing a long-time, reputable businessman into such a horrible crisis. Good luck to B&D in their new location, and a big pat on the back to the White Center Eagles. Reading good news like this just makes my day.
