West Seattle Weather Watch: Be on the lookout for snow showers

It didn’t happen last time – but just in case it does this time, you should know the National Weather Service issued another “special weather statement” late last night warning about the chance of snow showers this week. Cold air and incoming systems suggest this might happen any time between tonight and Thursday, and snow or no snow, it’s going to be cold, with lows possibly in the 20s Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.

Doing the snow happy dance, in hopes it brings some!

Well, we could be in NYC. Besides, the city here has no clue how to handle snowfall on the streets, or viaducts downtown.

I’m waiting for Cliff Mass’ call later today. That dude is good.

Really nice photo, great color palette and balance between foreground and background. Thanks for sharing!

And I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some real snow this time…

hmm. last time cliff mass emphatically said, “no snow,” it snowed a few inches. that was november 21.
    .
snow happens, and even veteran forecasters get it wrong from time to time.
    .
jack mayne: before you bash his snow response, note that during the november 22 mess, the mayor had the streets and bridges deiced with salt and brine solution for the first time in modern seattle history. when temperatures plummet and ice forms during rush hour, even SDOT can’t get through to keep road surfaces thawed.
    .
also note that traffic in both NYC and chicago – flat cities that deal with snowfall often – were paralyzed recently after snow storms.
    .
so what to do? can’t blame the citizenry for heading into work. can’t blame motorists for not having chains. can’t blame the NWS and the forecasters.
    .
    blame the government, of course.

Sorry, comment time is over.
