West Seattle Weather Watch: Snow flurries

8:39 PM: First flakes of the year reported. Got ’em where you are?

10:30 PM UPDATE: As noted in the comments, looks like it’s over for now. We just drove back from downtown – there’d been some snow reported on the other side of the bay – nary a flake. Newest forecast update says there’s still a chance of “snow showers” overnight – breezy too (we felt the wind starting to pick up) – and cold for pretty much the entire week (though mostly dry) – some nights going below 20. By the way, did you catch tonight’s sunset? Got this photo from Colby – showing a bit of the amazing pink that swept across the sky.

Driving home to Fauntlee Hills from 42nd & 100th SW (Arbor Heights?) I saw flakes the whole way, but they melted before they hit the ground. This was around 8pm – 8:30pm ish. Nothing now. :-(

Booooo I was so enjoying it.

It’s so funny how everyone is so excited about snow and last year we all had about enough on day 2 of being trapped in West Seattle! :)

Fulltilt, lol. Many flakes of the non snow kind at the ferry dock. Had a few snowflakes a little while ago, only lasted 5 min or so.

  • Bonnie December 5, 2009 (9:47 pm)

Alison, I am NOT excited about snow. LOL!

Took a peek outside to see if there was any white stuff coming down and all I saw was a HUGE moon! So I guess I won’t be bringing out my snow/moon boots just quite yet!

Should people be leaving their pets outside during this cold snap, because the family that lives near us always leaves their german shephard outside and all it has to lie on is a wooden picnic table and it howls all the time.

Sorry, comment time is over.
