Junction bus-stop update: “Within a day or two”

Another quick update on the long-gone bus stop on SW Alaska by the new QFC: SDOT‘s Marybeth Turner sends word that the city’s received the sign they need to restore the bus stop, and that work will happen within a day or two.

Am I missing something? This is 1 block from the junction bus stop. Why the need?

It’s the bus stop that serves the grocery store. If you’ve just shopped, and have a couple of heavy bags, it’s better to catch a bus there, if you rely on buses for your transportation. And, there was a stop there (for Jefferson Square), before construction started.

If that’s too close for you, maybe we should just eliminate half the bus stops in the city? Make everyone walk farther. Bet you’d hear about that – lol.

Wow, 1 block between bus stops. Yes, I do think it is not necessary and that is hardly advocating eliminating “half the bus stops in the city”.

Try walking from the junction bus stop (The one for the “55 north” on California and Alaska) down the hill to the NEXT but stop on the northside of Alaska street. You will see It is MUCH more than one block. Having the bus stop put back in that highly walked area will make life better for a lot of people. Metro is not putting in a new stop. They are putting back an old stop.

Where the hell does Metro get their signs? Mars?

Sorry, comment time is over.
