West Seattle Crime Watch: “On the lookout” after hit-and-run

From David at 36th/Henderson (map):

We heard a loud bang around 1:20 pm Sunday 9/20 and ran out just in time to see a woman with curly brown hair (on her cell phone!!) back up and take off after she rear-ended our car. She was in a 2004 or so white king cab GMC Denali. We ran after but she turned right on red on 35th Sw and we couldn’t catch her. We talked to others at “Bird On The Wire” coffee shop soon after, and at least one other person there said they also had their car parked on the street and was hit by a white pickup about a month ago. We are on the lookout.

Do keep an eye out, I do not believe there are many Denali pickups around. Denali SUV’s sure but the pickup trucks are not common.

It looks identical to the other 1500 GMC/Chevy pickup line up. Always amazes me how GM marketed things, Chevy/GMC/Cadillac trucks are only different by badging and a window sticker with various prices.

We saw that it was a big white pickup, and at the crash site we found a black plastic piece of what came to be the fog light housing because amazingly enough, the part number was on it (15190985), and a search on the web had it described as fog light housing for the GMC Denali.

Mike you are right, it was not a Denali but just GMC truck, I took the evidence of right front fog light housing to DERE Auto and he said it was mid 2004 GMC truck EXCLUDING Denali.

We’ll it’s one week later at around the same time on Sunday when the hit and run occurred, and we decided to walk around the neighborhood looking for the truck. We found it within five minutes. We gave her a week to do the right thing. We just called the police with details. You know if she would have just come up to the door after she did it and apologized, that most likely would have been the end of it.

Sorry, comment time is over.
