From wild winter to sizzling summer: 7 months ago today …

December 27, SW Sullivan, east of California SW. First day in two weeks we’d gotten up into the 40s. It’s when the 2 weeks of snowlock started to clear.

Looking at this picture is cooling me down… it’s still 86 in here!

Ok, Ok, reverse psychology thanks for the reality check. I will wait till the end of the week to poll myself on which was worse!

We wimper moaned and groaned about not being able to get out of the house and get the bus or being trapped downtown because the bus didn’t come. Now we are all grousing about the heat. LOL can we all live in our cars that have A/C?

K, that was sort of my thought. I’m sure it’s that hot in our place. I have a huge glass of ice water with this ridiculous iceberg atop it (storebought ice “cubes” froze together and won’t break) and that’s helping too … TR

nice snow day pic . . . how I miss bringing home food from the store in my little green sled! You can always pile on another blanket but you can’t take off your skin.

Spooky, that is precisely the language I used while discussing miserable cold vs. miserable heat with The Kid during our walk around the block an hour ago!

Come join me in AZ…33 days and counting over 100 degrees. I did b*tch last summer the 3 days it got over 80 in WS :)

I have always said, you can put on more clothes when its cold but you can only go so far with the removing when its hot…I’ll take cold ANY day over this heat.

Thanks for the snowmare reminder. How about posting a real cold deep snow photo to assist when it hits 100 this week? I want to look at the picture and feel the cold. I told myself back then during the snowmare siege of being housebound and cold that I would not complain when it gets HOT this summer. I’m trying to be a good girl now! Trying… :)

I miss baking. As in, baking food. I won’t miss feeling myself bake.

You know, it’s almost like we have had an Eastern weather year. Cold and snow in winter, HOT in summer. Why can’t we have cheaper real estate to boot?

If we do get an Eastern fall, I’ll do a Snoopy happy dance the whole season.

Global warming deniers: have your last two brain cells fried yet?
    W. Washington is not supposed to have more than three days consecutive of upper 80’s and above.
Hot, light air rises, is replaced by cool, heavy ocean air. THAT is the way our air conditioner is supposed to work.
    Grrr!

Wow! Sorry for the spooky moment! My Dad used to say that when it was “MUCH too HoT to be Humane!” I stand by the saying. It is true, I would rather have an avalanche of blankets in winter than a boiling hot day in summer any time!

Oh, that photo is delicious right now!

I’d be fine with an Eastern fall, but no Eastern winter again, please. I’d like to feel like I live in Seattle and not back in Maine.

Just a reminder: Now is the time to hit the stores and buy sand/salt/kitty litter, snow shovel, tire chains, etc. — all the stuff you didn’t have back in December.

Sorry, comment time is over.
