11 days till West Seattle Summer Fest: New web site, more info

Counting down now till the summer’s biggest West Seattle event, Summer Fest in The Junction (WSB sponsor) July 10-11-12, and we just got word its brand-new website is up, with even more details on the music, art, vendors, family fun, food, and other features we’ve been telling you about. Here’s the home page; vendors (with maps to their individual locations) here; music here; other entertainment here – and even more to explore.

I wish the new site had a daily/hourly lineup of entertainment on the music stages, like the old one did.

I asked one of the promoters that as soon as we saw the new site. He said they’re focusing on the guide that will be inserted in this week’s edition of The Stranger, and will be available at multiple entrances during the festival – TR

We live south of Providence Mt. St Vincent, and dread the onslaught of the ear-splitting, loud awful music from this event carrying into our neighborhood every summer. Why is the Festival allowed to blast music long into the night in a small commercial area surrounded by residential neighborhoods? The West Seattle blue collar hillbillies who attend this event should go to the White River Amphitheater, or even the Gorge at George for rock concerts, and leave the residential neighborhoods in peace. We’re going to be out of town during the Festival, and thank goodness! Turn down the amplified rock music from these second-rate, over-the-hill garage wanna-be bands!

It appears the festival is over at 8:00 on Saturday – so are the soul pimps really playing from 8:15-11:00? Seems like a really long set…

The music usually continues after the rest of the booths shut down, on Fri-Sat nights.

I’m a proud West Seattle white collar hillbillie who enjoys the loud music and beergardens.

Yes…The Soul Pimps are really playing from 8:15 – 11:00 pm on Saturday…for the Street Dance. This West Seattle white collar HB also enjoys the music, dancing, beergardens and our annual small town festival.

Also…a big shout out to West Seattle Nursery for sponsoring the Community Group/Non profit tent. We will be there! Cheers,F3
