Admiral Theater wants you back in the balcony

admiral.jpg More information from the folks at the Admiral Theater about plans for its latest round of renovations, previously mentioned here and here. Biggest news: the Admiral’s Steve Garrett says they have the OK to reopen the theater’s long-closed balcony “once certain work is done” — but first, he says, they want to do some restoration work, including painting a mural in the balcony area, and they are looking for bids and proposals. Click ahead for a little more on that, including how to reach Steve if you want to bid, plus news of a prestigious premiere coming to the theater:

Here’s what Steve writes about the bids they are seeking:

1. We are looking for carpeting bids. All wishing to look at what we need done and are a licensed contractor please use the contact information below.

2. We are looking for painting bids. All wishing to look at what we need done and are a licensed contractor please use the contact information below.

3. Once the painting is complete, we want a mural painted in the balcony area. All those wishing to submit proposals please use contact information below.

Steve also mentions that the Admiral is one of five moviehouses chosen to premiere a new movie from Paul Allen’s Vulcan Productions, “Bickford Schmeckler’s Cool Ideas.” That’s next Monday (August 13th), 7 pm.

Any chance of getting renovations to the sound system? The last movie I went to at the Admiral was really poor sounding and hard to hear.

Glad to hear someone’s taking a renewed interest in the place. Hopefully first-run movies aren’t far behind?

Sorry, comment time is over.
