Restaurant reports

-Ryan, owner of the forthcoming Garlic Jim’s in The Junction, says the grand opening next month will now kick off with an 11 am ribboncutting on March 19 featuring WS-residing City Council member Tom Rasmussen. Ryan also notes he’s still looking for drivers (with tips, he says, they could earn $18-ish an hour).

-Not even a week after its closure, the ex-Guadalajara Hacienda is already sadly signless:

Regarding Guadalajara, all I can say is sad, sad, sad. I really hope they can re-open somewhere else. Maybe they will stand a chance until the next “proposed” land action use sign goes up?

One more Pizza place,Cupcake joint or Mexican eatery after Garlic Jims opens up and I’m gonna burst at the seams of my pants.

Why is it sad? They probably made money off of the sale. That’s what its about making money isn’t it?.

Ha. Showed up at the doorstep and saw the sign. Immediately looked around and said to myself, not another damn condo! Was about to go to the Ho Win but wasn’t in the mood for chinese. Gonna miss their relleno.

Aw well, my favorite place is Taqueria Guaymas and their Platos de Carnitas, but still, I will miss all those great Diego Rivera pictures and those wonderful booths, not to mention the pungent mexican oregano salsa. Is California Avenue starting to look like the Death Star Trench?

In another WS restaurant report, the Seattle Times gave Beato 3 1/2 stars in Friday’s paper.

Steve – yeah, deathstar trench! Great description, seriously.

Jiggers – yeah, true it is about getting paid and another word that rhymes with paid. LOL No cough.

Sorry, comment time is over.
