  Honestly, I would prefer they not replace it with anything but a new seawall and a park-like two lane boulevard. MANY cities have already proven that their cities absorbed the traffic of tearing down their downtown freeways. Given enough advance warning people will find alternate routes or alternate methods of commuting to their jobs, or even telecommuting. Mayor Nichols wants to promote urban density and urban livability, this is the perfect way to do that.

  More West Seattleites would use the Water Taxi now as their commute option if they knew it was offered year round…
