SATURDAY MORNING-AFTERNOON: Nature Consortium 2nd Annual Earth Day Celebration. Cooper Elementary School, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm 1901 SW Genesee Street. Come join Nature Consortium and Earth Corps volunteers in further cleanup and develpment of the hilltop. The work party will be followed by Nature Consortium‘s own Earth Day Festival at Cooper Elementary, which is free, family friendly, and open to the public. All are invited to come and enjoy free food, kids hands-on art activities, and performances by a wide array of artists. There will also be on-going nature hikes, an arts and environment tabling area, a fantastic raffle, and more!

The film has won various awards at several movie festivals, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Michelle Williams (Brokeback Mountain) as well as for the writer & director, Kelley Reichardt, (Old Joy).

We will begin with a “jazz flavored” worship service at 10:30am with Grace Holden, the Admiral Choir and special guests, followed by a jazz concert event at 7:00pm featuring The Overton Berry Ensemble with the extraordinary talents of Bernie Jacobs (flute and tenor sax), Hawk Arps (vibes), Jeff Davies (bass), Rick Spano (percussion) and our own Grace Holden (vocalist). There will be a pre-concert reception at 6:00pm. The community is invited to both events.
