There is a photo of the missing kitty, right above, and has been since we published this…
Are you seeing photos on other pet posts? Code’s correct, photo’s there, don’t know why the text and comments would show but not a photo. Anyway, this is the photo’s URL. https://westseattleblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Süleyman_5-e1467306230929.jpg
I’ve seen pictures in previous posts about pets. Even when I clicked your link for the picture it says “page not found”? I’m on a cell phone though, maybe that’s the issue.
I am so sorry for the pain you are going through.
Any sightings?
Make sure to contact the chip company to report him lost.
Ensure you call the Seattle Animal Shelter lost/found line DAILY – 206-386-7387 and go in person and fill out the forms, and look in person, check all the cages each time you go. Only you know your cat!
Also, inform wherever you adopted her from as they can get the word out further.
Some advice: Put her dirty litter outside, the smell will travel and help guide him if he needs it. Also, put an article of your clothing out. With the coyotes and other critters, food is not recommended. Does your cat have a way to get inside if she does come back? If not, make sure there is a safe place to hang out.
Bug your neighbors, knock on doors and ask to PERSONALLY check sheds, garages, out buildings, etc. (it is your cat, you care much more than your neighbors and they may say they will look around but…) a scared cat can get into some very tiny spaces. When you search, use the voice or noises you use inside, keep the fear out of your voice. Walk, call, wait (quietly), repeat and then walk back the same way you came calling again. Too many feet make too much noise so if people are helping, send in twos on other routes. Check under bushes, look up in trees and on roofs, and again, go slow and stay calm.
If necessary, I can provide a trap to assist in catching Sully. I also live very close if you need assistance searching, or just a hug.
There are also some great tips here for search advice and literature about the behavior of lost kitties, you can go to Missing Pet Partnership’s website: http://www.missingpetpartnership.org
Sending compassion, and good thoughts. Blessed be, may Sullyman kitty return home safely and quickly!

Check every bush and tree. Cats will hunker down and may not come when called even if they can clearly see it is you. Grab a flashlight, look in and under garages, sheds, houses and parked cars. A cat can fit in or through a hole the width of its whiskers. Try a trap. There are organizations that will lend one to you and show you how to use it. Since it hasn’t rained, maybe try a tracker dog. http://www.3retrievers.com/. They help find lost pets.
Lisa is right, talk to your neighbors. Don’t forget to contact every Vet clinic in the area. Put out big bright poster boards with large pictures. Most of all, don’t give up. Unless chased, most indoor only cats won’t travel too far.
WSB… I can’t see the picture here at home on a MAC but at work on Microsoft I could see it.???? weird.
I honestly don’t know what the problem is/was (WG – we’re all-Mac), but there’s good news. Suleyman’s been found. Thanks, all.
Thanks all who were concerned about our kitty. As it turned out, he took a ride in a strange car and spent the night in a strange garage. We did check there but, apparently, he was too terrified to show himself with a stranger present. A tip from our experience: Be patient and ask any strangers to step out of sight and sound.
