Hi a few suggestions that do work

Knowing that Eliza is an indoor cat I would suggest searching a 3 house radius of your house and fan out from there if you don’t find her in a couple of days. If you didn’t actually see her escape outdoors I would also suggest searching the house again. Think about that day she went missing what was usual about it.

It’s important to know about a cat’s threshold meaning the length of time a cat will stay in hiding before venturing out to come back home if possible or to look for food could be any where from 2 to 3 days or 7 to 10 days depending on the cats personality.

Cats will hide in silence and they’re good at it and may not come to their name because
they’re not in a relax stable frame of mind they’re in hidding.

1st suggestion To rule out your property would be to do a Target/Physical search: meaning Search your property with a high power flash light even during the day check under decks, bushes, and tress/roofs places a cat can hide and/or get shut in.

NEXT Very Important is to do a Physical search of your neighbor’s yards. Get permission from your neighbors to search their yards w/ a high power flash light and look for every possible area where Eliza may be hiding. Your neighbors will most likely not get on their hands and knees and look for Eliza and if she is locked in something even if they open it up it doesn’t mean she’ll run out at that very moment.

Put up large neon posters within several blocks of point of escape.

To be effective, make your neon posters out of the largest sheet of fluorescent poster board you can find. Use a black Magic Marker and write “REWARD” at the top and “LOST CAT” at the bottom. Use a sheet protector to put your 8×11 flyer in using clear packing tape & tape the sheet protector in the center of the large neon poster. You poster flyer should consist mostly of a picture of your cat and your phone number. Make sure you write down each sighting, callers name, date & time of day the sighting came in.

Get flyers to all the local vets, pet stores, your shelter , and create a craigslist ad

Other tools: camera, humane trap, and bait stations

    good luck
