mellaw6565MemberJenV – JoB called me last night and her father-in-law died. They left town this morning and won’t be back until next Tuesday – so I guess you’ll have to fill her lane as well.
Sorry – I don’t bowl. It’s hazardous to others bowlers around me! lol
October 10, 2008 at 9:18 pm #639942
JenVMemberthanks mellaw. you know you’re just welcome to show up and not bowl, too…
Ok all, looks like lanes 19 & 21 are up for grabs unless someone made arrangements with JoB and Ellenater behind the scenes. I also have an extra lane reserved- either 16 or 17 depending on what side the BF wants to bowl on. I know that when I made reservations, I merely had to make a deposit and the balance is due at the time you finish bowling, I don’t know how JoB and Ellenater did it. If it’s the same, you would just need to pay their balance and coordinate with them on the deposit.
All in all, it still sounds like we’re going to have a nice turnout even with a lot of people not bowling. Hope to see you all there! I am going to buy new bowling shoes tonight, so if anyone is ooogy about bowling alley shoes and wears an 8-8.5 (and is female- they’re girly-ish) you’re welcome to them. I happen to be ooogy about bowling alley shoes, which is why I bought them. But, I didn’t like them all that much when I saw a much cooler pair. And I am hoping that a cooler pair might help my game. :P

mellaw6565MemberThanks JenV – I might show up for some laughs:)

JenVMemberyou can heckle from the peanut gallery with Jan. ;)
October 10, 2008 at 10:14 pm #639945
thatswrightMemberi’ll be there with two kiddos in tow (assuming it’s kid-friendly … can be a gamble in seattle at times) to hang for a bit … may bowl depending upon utilization.
October 10, 2008 at 10:19 pm #639946
flowerpetalMemberFranci not sure if I can get down to Dem. Headquarters before close of business today. If so, I will bring you a magnet.
October 10, 2008 at 10:25 pm #639947
JenVMemberthatswright- definitely kiddo friendly…in fact, some of the reserved lanes might even have auto bumpers. For kids size bowling balls, ask behind the counter- you are unlikely to find any with the regular balls. they have a variety of kid size shoes as well.

JoBParticipantI paid a dip..just use the lane and pay bal.. I think it,s one with auto bumpers..
it was 90 here today. rain tomorrow for the funeral.
wish we were there

flowerpetalMemberI will be there today at 3:00 with Obama yard signs and plenty of them to go around! Sorry I wasn’t able to go by and get other campaign material. But that can still happen this week!
I don’t want to bowl alone on JoB’s lane. Will there be others looking for a lane? I play well with others.
October 12, 2008 at 4:51 pm #639950
JanSParticipanthey, flowerpetal. Daughter and her bf will be in #20, so I will definitely be there to heckle…hope you find someone to share with :) Hey, maybe I should call Todd ;-)
October 12, 2008 at 6:15 pm #639951
GinaParticipantOkay. West Seattle Bowl at 3. I miss the old “Wes Seattle Bowl”. sign.
Practicing my ‘he,he,he’ for the heckle section.
October 12, 2008 at 7:08 pm #639952
JanSParticipantBumping up…y’all better come…B there or B square…:o)
October 12, 2008 at 7:11 pm #639953
flowerpetalMemberCome and pick up your Obama yard signs too!
October 12, 2008 at 7:30 pm #639954
JanSParticipantflowerpetal..Charlabob can’t make it today to bowling. I told her I’d try to get a yard sign for her, if you have any left :)

DianeParticipanthey all; it’s Diane, aka Diane
~
my first wsblog meetup; was so wonderful to meet some of you; thanks to JanS for pointing out many wsbloggers; great to put faces to names; look forward to more opportunities to meet and chat in person
~
at first arrival, I saw a toddler bowling at my skill level; toss up in air, kerplunk, bump, bump, bump, roll about 3 ft; yep that’s just like me last time I tried to bowl; but I’m always up for good conversation, laughs; maybe the next meetup could be dancing; that I can do very well and love!!!
October 13, 2008 at 4:12 am #639956
flowerpetalMemberDancinag! Well that will certainly give me the challenge I need. I would then insist that my par amour join me. He can make anyone look accomplished on the dance floor.
I had a heap of fun this afternoon; and I agree, Jan was the perfect social director. Who doesn’t love that?
October 13, 2008 at 5:07 am #639957
JanSParticipantawww, shucks, thanks, flowerpetal. This was a good afternoon..lots of fun. It was so nice to meet you finally, and know who you are (actually, knew who you were – lol), and Diane…it was great meeting you, too.
We will have another meet-up in the not so distant future, and we’ll try to throw some dancing in. Erik – in lane 17 – and I had a blast dancing at the street dance this past July.
Yes, a great afternoon all around :)
October 13, 2008 at 5:14 am #639958
ErikParticipantFlowerpetal – Here’s the cat bowling game. I don’t throw as many gutter balls when I’m playing this as in real life (you can attest to my skill there….gutter ball, strike, gutter ball, spare, gutter ball…etc.).
October 13, 2008 at 6:51 am #639959
JanSParticipanterik…that’s pretty funny. When we get closer to Christmas I’ll send you a link to Elf Bowling…the elfs are the pins ;-) it’s fun..
October 13, 2008 at 2:33 pm #639960
GinaParticipantI wonder how long that piano will stay on the sidewalk across the street from the bowling alley!
October 13, 2008 at 3:34 pm #639961
In2theknightMemberThanks, JenV for putting the feelers out to get this together…and for introducing me to some of the WSB-ites. I look forward to upcoming get togethers…and to the tour of Seattles best bars and places to meet women you talked about. (OK, so I threw the “meet women” part in there tryin’ to be subliminal)
October 13, 2008 at 4:00 pm #639962
JanSParticipantI2tk….I think maybe you were the only person I didn’t meet yesterday? Sorry I missed you…and glad you made it :) It’s definitely a fun group .
October 13, 2008 at 4:17 pm #639963
flowerpetalMemberThat church has a little thrift shop around the corner on Oregon. Perhaps they will take it in. I hope it gets inside somewhere before the rain comes.
October 14, 2008 at 6:15 am #639964
miwsParticipantYes, it was a fun get together! (Although we “hecklers” didn’t really heckle much!)
I’ll add my kudos to Jan, for being a great introducer. It was nice to meet some more WSBers face to face.
Thanks also to JenV for….uhhhh…..getting the ball rolling on this event!
Mike
