ShibaguyzMember… other than Endoline Joe’s. I know… sacrilege to say that. But the slow, often abusive, service and mediocre food has just worn thin with me. Even their GREAT bloody mary can’t do it for me anymore. Time for find a new place to indulge our breakfast cravings.
Where oh where in WS do you like to go for breakfast. We LOVE Blackbird Bistro on the weekends but still want another option. And what about during the week? Holidays like today? Where do WS folk go when it’s just too much to drag out the egg poacher and fire up the toaster?

KayleighMemberThe service at Endolyne is abusive? D’oh. We just never went back because we thought the food was average and overpriced. I can do without server abuse.
I like to make breakfast at home. I have a lot of easy brunch recipes, so I rarely go out for breakfast. I did have the pancakes at Luna Park once, though, and loved them.

RainyDay1235MemberLuna Park is definitely #1. I always get the llama pile with tomatoes instead of olives. YUM!

Skylark is okay too – good for vegetarians and vegans especially.
Endolyne and Alki Cafe are overpriced and hit-n-miss. There was a good thread about this a while back, don’t think you can search for it though…??

hopeyParticipantp.s. I put these search strings into Google to find those threads:
site:westseattleblog.com/blog/forum brunch
site:westseattleblog.com/blog/forum breakfast
I remember TR said she is working on a better search solution…

beachdrivegirlParticipantI was a fan of Jaks until recently when we had a party of six. They would not sit us until they had enough menus for all six of us. However, rather than holding menus they sat others in front of us even once we mentioned we would be happy to share menus. Poor service like this makes me pass on them for future brunch service.

JenVMemberchelan cafe has a great breakfast. best eggs benedict ever.
I know it’s not WS, but Saturday we went for breakfast at Randy’s down by Boeing field. $4.50 for breakfast! It was really good, and that place is full of kitschy history.

AdmiralJanewayParticipantI had brunch at Eats Market Cafe in Westwood Village recently. I thought it was good.

WSBKeymasterYeah, thought I had the search nut cracked a few nights ago and not quite there, but it’s still in the works. Nobody’s mentioned Easy Street? If we get to go out to breakfast, that’s where we go. Especially because you can have lunch for breakfast if you want! (or breakfast for lunch, for that matter) … TR

JanSParticipantI gotta get me down to the Chelan…I LOVE eggs benedict…

jMemberI don’t know if the breakfast is good, but I just found out that the Celtic Swell on Alki serves breakfast. Has anyone tried their breakfast?
May 27, 2008 at 4:35 am #625424
jkboisonMemberLuna park is theeee best!
May 27, 2008 at 4:54 am #625425
datamuseParticipantAnother one for the Chelan. It’s my favorite by far.

katiebeeParticipantChristo’s on Alki! Family owned & operated and fantastic eggs benedict!

muthaMemberEasy Street…had a great breakfast, good prices, and they were super friendly to the kids. A bit of a greasy spoon, but that makes for a good breakfast, no?
May 27, 2008 at 5:59 am #625428
celeste17ParticipantThis isn’t WS but in Burien on Ambaum there is a place called Huckleberry Square. They serve breakfast all day long and are open on Saturday and Sunday past 1pm. The only draw back to the Chelan is if you are wanting a late breakfast/brunch they are only open until 1pm.
May 27, 2008 at 6:05 am #625429
elgregoMemberI love Luna Park. Their patio is open now too.
May 27, 2008 at 6:08 am #625430
ShibaguyzMemberSee.. just ask and ye shall find! Thanks for all the GREAT suggestions! We’ve only been here for a year and we just don’t know all the “insider” places until after the fact… then we usually forget where we were going to go! LOL
May 27, 2008 at 2:56 pm #625431
beachdrivegirlParticipantI have only been to the swell once and it was good from what I remember;however, it has been nearly a year so stuff may have changed.
May 27, 2008 at 10:13 pm #625432
villagegreenMemberMy favorite WS breakfast spots:
1. Blackbird
2. Skylark
3. Easy Street
4. Circa
5. Luna Park
May 27, 2008 at 10:54 pm #625433
barmargiaMemberI don’t think Celtic Swell does breakfast anymore, it’s been awhile since I was there, but I vaguely remember them mentioning they were not going to be serving breakfast. I concur with the Blackbird, Circa and Luna Park suggestions.
May 27, 2008 at 10:55 pm #625434
flowerpetalMemberThe devilish little imp that sits on my left shoulder wanted me to suggest the Alki Cafe just to see the forum go “kaboom” again.
But the more tempered side of me says that I can’t wait for the Charlestowne Cafe to open its doors. The breakfasts there were just like mom’s!
May 27, 2008 at 11:11 pm #625435
villagegreenMemberOh yeah, I forgot to mention that Skylark’s Bloody Marys are AWESOME!!!!
May 28, 2008 at 12:12 am #625436
AimParticipantShibaguyz: How about combining a couple of ideas and having a Big Gay Meetup at Skylark for brunch one weekend? We’d be there with bells on! :-)
May 29, 2008 at 6:21 am #625437
ShibaguyzMemberhhhmmmm… not a bad idea… hhhmmmmm…
