bsmommaParticipantDoes anyone know of any local Easter Bunny Pictures? I REALY Don’t want to go out to the mall!
Thanks!
April 6, 2009 at 5:19 pm #663503
AnonymousInactiveYou mean a place to get pictures of your kids taken with the Easter Bunny, right?
If there’s a need, I guess can go look for an XXXL Easter Bunny costume…I haven’t shaved in a few days, and I may have an unlit cigar in my teeth but I’m always looking for a good reason to wear a costume.
Maybe I could set up at Big Al’s….

WSBKeymasterWe haven’t received any notification but Westwood Village, where I would expect this to happen if it happens anywhere, is not always good about e-mail announcements. Try giving their office a call. I would do that myself right now but I’m in a City Council hearing. Also – there are numerous egg hunts this Saturday (and a few on Sunday) – see our Events calendar – might be a bunny at one or two of those!
April 6, 2009 at 6:09 pm #663505
bsmommaParticipantLuigilinguini – That would be PERFECT! My kid has 2 black eyes right now and she’d probably be crying! I already have a visual in my head.
I called Westwood Village and they don’t have anything. Thanks for the info, I’ll keep my eyes open…… or head out to the mall, Yuk!

IrukandjiParticipantHey Luigi! I’d be happy to share in costs for the costume if I can have you pose with my kid. Really.

AnonymousInactiveHmmmmmmmmm…..is this life imitating art, or vice-versa?
I’m liking this idea. Stand by while I gather some info about big and tall easter bunny costumes.
April 6, 2009 at 7:43 pm #663508
IrukandjiParticipantSadly, I gave my bunny costume to a consignment store years ago when purging. Wasn’t big or tall though.

trensuelaMemberI wonder how many partakers in the furry fetish started out liking the easter bunny a little too much as children?

celeste17ParticipantIf you do this I can help. I can take pictures (I have a digital camera). I can download the picture and send it to you via email or I can send it to Bartell’s Drug or your choice for printing.

AnonymousInactiveFollowing up on this post from earlier, sorry for the delay…
So, much to my puma chagrin, I can’t find a big easter bunny costume in the area (at least not online). I did find one site that had costumes for purchase but they went all the way up to $850 and I’m not sure about the size (which in this case absolutely matters), nor am I ready to make that kind of emotional commitment to being the easter bunny every year as my kids are older and don’t appreciate such whimsical pursuits.
I’m afraid that I would end up wearing this thing daily, to get some mileage out of it. In my line of work, this wouldn’t be at all appropriate.
Irukandji and bsmomma – I believe I’ve failed you, and now you’ll have to go to the mall if you really want this done right.
I’m going to go trim my own posts right now…

KevinParticipantLuigilinguini, sorry to hear you could not find a bunny suit in your size. Heck, I was going to offer to chip in, and even take pictures.
.
So tell you what. Find a decent price on renting a bunny suit for a 5’7″ 220# male and I will come and wear the suit and YOU can take pictures.
.
Celeste has already volunteered to take pictures, so you don’t even have to do that if you don’t want to. Also, at this late date it might be easier to find a SMALL size bunny suit, and see if we can find a suitable female volunteer.
.
Last idea, perhaps there is someone out there that is real good at production sewing who could quickly make an official WSB Bunny Suit for the occasion. We could all chip in for the cost of materials.
.
Photos could be taken at a park, or other indoor venue in the weather is not cooperating?
.

lazybeardParticipantI actually just reserved some glass rental for this event if it takes place over the weekend.
No joke.
April 7, 2009 at 4:13 am #663517
IrukandjiParticipantHow about just bunny ears, tail and cigar with carrot top green attached?
April 7, 2009 at 4:44 am #663518
AnonymousInactiveOkay – this is getting serious with you people!
Lazybeard just sent me this link:

I’ve got an email out to these folks and will follow up via phone tomorrow. If they don’t have easter bunnies available can we substitute another animal? I know this is unorthodox, but being a Gemini I never know what to expect.
Kevin – I hear ya. Let me see if they’ve got the biggun first, then if necessary we’ll knock it down about 3/4′ and go with your idea.
I’m still concerned about the late notice and availability, but I’m thinking a rooster, chicken, duck, goose, bear, or other egg-bearing creature might be appropriate.
April 7, 2009 at 4:55 am #663519
KevinParticipantLuigilinguini,
That is not a bad idea about substituting another animal. After all, bunny suits are probably going for a premium even if you can find one, where as an alternate animal might be inexpensive and easy to procure. I like the way you think! Of course, can the parents sell their kids on the idea?
April 7, 2009 at 5:08 am #663520
AnonymousInactiveYeah, I was thinking about that (the part about the kids). Anything short of the easter bunny is going to be a tough sell and could potentially alter a child’s perception of the easter holiday moving forward. I keep imagining the costume shop saying, “all we have in that size is a Santa costume”.
My kids could handle it, but then again they think bears lay eggs.
Confounded Pagan holidays!

DuckitudeMemberI vote for the duck outfit… with rabbit ears. Nothing like a mutant to make kids really laugh…
Speaking of mutants… check these out

Stop by for a closer look at the West Seattle Ducky Reserve and don’t forget to touch the magic eggs… (careful…. I know what you are thinking).
Ducky Easter!
April 7, 2009 at 6:59 am #663522
DuckitudeMemberOh… one other thing. There will be a couple more videos posted by Easter… one that stars a ducky that actually quacks the melody for “Peter Cottontail,” uh, I mean, “Ducky Cottontail”!
April 7, 2009 at 8:08 am #663523
Garden_nymphMemberI think it should be a frog! Think about it, the West Seattle Blog Frog. Don’t we need a mascot!? Instead of the normal, ribbitt sound, he could say, “Read it, Read it.” Plus, I REALLY want to see Luigi decked out in the suit, as our own beloved bull frog!
April 7, 2009 at 10:43 am #663524
WSBKeymasterCould be good news for bonafide bunny questers.
Doing more research on the weekend egg hunts, the Hiawatha one is listed on the city calendar
http://www.seattle.gov/parks/calendar/events_cc.htm?trumbaEmbed=date%3D20090411
as Spring Egg Hunt with GIANT BUNNY.
April 7, 2009 at 10:46 am #663525
Garden_nymphMemberIt’s true- you guys DON’T sleep! Thanks TR for finding a bunny for us. BTW, what do you think of the blog frog idea? ;)
April 7, 2009 at 11:01 am #663526
celeste17ParticipantGarden I guess we don’t either. :)
