bluebirdMemberFrom the Christian Broadcasting Network’s war on Halloween:
“During this period demons are assigned against those who participate in the rituals and festivities. These demons are automatically drawn to the fetishes that open doors for them to come into the lives of human beings. For example, most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches.”
“Curses are sent through the tricks and treats of the innocent whether they get it by going door to door or by purchasing it from the local grocery store. The demons cannot tell the difference.”

dawsonctParticipantThanks Bluebird, the Christianist’s wild-eyed bleating over Hallowe’en always amuses me. It’s a pretty damn secular holiday now (you know, like X-mas) but for crying out loud, it’s a Christian holiday! Sure, they co-opted the traditions of other festivals already celebrated by the new converts, but the name we use for the holiday is the X-tian name. What a bunch of low-information numbskulls.

I would also like to know which school is banning Luckymom’s daughter’s X-mas attire, and what does that sweater look like?
Where’d you go, Luckymom?

dhgParticipantI find this SOOOO interesting because I was raised as a Baptist and I remember the teachings which are nothing like what they are today. The first Baptists believed that each person had a direct relationship with God and that there should be no objects standing in between (i.e., crosses, rosaries, statues). Given that objects have no power it stands to reason that chants and curses placed on candy bars is sheer nonsense. So now the evangelicals are moving 180 degrees. Fearful of candy bars with curses the next step is to sell a cross that’s been blessed.
