We’ve been mentioning to local businesses and PR folks who contact us about local businesses that there are two places where local businesses can participate for free (even if they are not the sponsors who – THANK YOU, SPONSORS! – keep us running so we and those who work with/for us can cover the news, etc.). Those places are: Freebies/Deals/Sales and West Seattle Jobs Offered.
Freebies tend to speak for themselves. But if you are going to offer a Deal/Sale, it MUST be clear WHY it is a deal/sale. If you list a price that isn’t glaringly obviously a screaming deal, please say what the discount is, for example. ($100/person gourmet dinner that would cost you $250 otherwise, $1300 rent for an apartment that went for $2000 under the previous lease, that sort of thing.)
