I am trying to find the post from the person who was seeking a cat to “borrow” for an elderly woman in hospice care who has lost her own cat and needs a replacement cat to cuddle. I don’t know if a connection was ever made, but there was just a post today from Sarah Reijnen to the VashonALL Facebook page where she is looking for someone to “borrow” her cat for a few months. Seems like a love connection to me.

What an awesome idea – i hope one is found for this woman. My parent’s cat had to be euthanized last year and they were of the mindset to not get any more pets. they are in their eighties. I tended to agree with them. But then they changed their mind when they recognzied the joy that was missing. So now they have a new cat and it definitely is a win-win for both cat and parents.

I would call Next to Nature pet food and supplies on California Ave.935-1134 (in the Junction)

Give a call and perhaps they have information about being a foster parent for a cat, and explain the situation. Blessings!

Since it sounds like the need is on Vashon, Vashon Island Pet Protectors might be a good place to start. cats@vipp.org or 389-1085 (206?)

The original need, as I remember it, for a “loaner” cat for the elderly woman was a post here on West Seattle Blog, and that is what I am trying to track down, in case the need still exists. If anyone remembers this or has a lead for me, I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
