HMC RichParticipantTo steal a Facebook application and to tone down the Political arguments, I thought I would ask everyone to list their five favorite comedy movies. If this has been done before, then I apologize for repeating.
1. Airplane
2. They Call Me Trinity
3. The Princess Bride
4. Wayne’s World
5. Army Of Darkness
I am sure someone will list a movie that I forgot and I might want to revise my list. I have to admit I love Adam Sandler and Eddie Murphy movies.

charlabobParticipantBlazing Saddles
Buckaroo Banzai
Mars Attacks (for sentimental reasons — our first date movie)
Dr. Strangelove
The Producers
I started with 23 — this was hard, but fun :-)
June 4, 2009 at 2:18 pm #668807
PatrickKeymasterHis Girl Friday
Young Frankenstein (given that Charla took Saddles)
Men in Black 1
Into the Night
Magic Christian
And I believe Buckaroo Bonzai is a serious film and should be treated as such.

lighthouseParticipantIn order of release dates:
1. Pretty much anything by Harold Lloyd, but if I have to pick one: Girl Shy
2. Pretty much anything by the Marx Brothers, but if I have to pick one: Duck Soup (Hail Freedonia!)
3. The Pink Panther (although “A Shot in the Dark” is close)
4. Young Frankenstein
5. Monty Python and the Holy Grail

JanSParticipantLighthouse…you picked 3 of mine…wow…revising now – lol…(oh, that would be the last 3)
June 4, 2009 at 4:42 pm #668810
squareeyesParticipantYoung Frankenstein
16 Candles
Dogma
Zoolander
Dazed and Confused
This is off the top of my head. I reserve the right to log back in and edit as I go through the day, slap my forehead and say, “how could I forget THAT one?!?”
June 4, 2009 at 4:45 pm #668811
lighthouseParticipantJanS – I don’t think there’s a rule that says you can’t repeat a movie. (If there is, I already broke it when I listed “Young Frankenstein”!) I’m sure that some movies will show up on multiple lists.
June 4, 2009 at 4:45 pm #668812
HMC RichParticipantI know what you mean. I kind of forgot Animal House myself.
June 4, 2009 at 5:02 pm #668813

KBearParticipantOffice Space
A Fish Called Wanda
M*A*S*H
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Airplane!
Isn’t it time for Airplane III? (“That’s exactly what they’ll be expecting us to do!”) There must be a wealth of new material, now that we have TSA, all sorts of new carry-on restrictions, color-coded threat levels, airlines nickel-and-dimeing you for stuff that used to be included, etc.
June 4, 2009 at 11:37 pm #668819
karenParticipantDon’t have five that haven’t already been listed, but ad this one to your Netflix line up – Fido. It’s the story of a boy and his zombie – fantastic!! Very funny (in a sick Shaun of the Dead kind of way!)
