VanessaParticipant“Eenie meany jelly beanie, the spirits are about to speak.” Fellow WS Bloggers, is there such a thing as small group insurance anymore? I thank you in advance for any information.

DianaParticipantThis is an ever changing landscape. There are small group policies available. Some carriers have left the market and some have entered. With the help of an excellent insurance broker and an excellent CPA, and after agonizing analysis and reviews, we chose to get out of the small group plan we were in and went to individual plans (supported by the company) for a number of reasons. My best suggestion is to not try to maneuver this on your own as it is daunting. A good broker and good CPA, working hand-in-hand should be able to guide you well.

LindseyParticipantGood point, Diana. Are you looking for a broker, Vanessa? Are you an employer looking to sponsor a small group plan, and how small are we talking?

VanessaParticipantThanks Diana and Lindsey.Yes, I am an employer and would be looking for the 3-4 of us. Maybe 5 in the future. Some one also mentioned checking out Costco as well.

LindseyParticipantCall this lady – she’s the best. She knows everything about the small group market, which she has worked in for 25 years. Also a medicare expert, and just an all around great person. I used to work with her. :)
