Recently encountered someone using one of those for-hire e-scooters on the sidewalk along California Ave. And by encountered, I specifically mean that the rider responded to my muttering, “Not supposed to be riding on the sidewalk” with a series of swears and shouting look-backs about how he wasn’t going to ride along the road, as dictated by the law. Good times!
Welcome to the real world. Vast majority of scooter riders DO NOT CARE where and how they ride-or park the scooter when they’re done. They’re aided and abetted by the city. Rest assured the city DOES NOT CARE where and how they ride or where they park them. And rest assured the scooter companies do not care either where and how they’re ridden or where they’re parked.
