Subj: Shocking turn from Gov. Gregoire on Family Leave Insurance

Date: 9/27/08 11:53:11 AM Pacific Daylight Time

    From: momsrising@mail.democracyinaction.org (MomsRising)

    Dear Washington MomsRising member,

You’ve heard a lot from us this week, and we normally don’t write you so often. But something just came up that we felt you’d want to hear about right away.

We were shocked, stunned, and deeply disappointed to hear Gov. Gregoire say that she was suspending the plan to roll out Family Leave Insurance in her debate with Dino Rossi this week.

Yes, you heard that right. In a time of a national economic crisis, when families need more help, not less, Governor Gregoire is going the wrong direction.

*Tell Gov. Gregoire to stay on track with Family Leave Insurance by clicking here:

Please forward this email to friends right now so they can contact the Governor too.

Now is definitely not the time to cut programs that help families. In this economic crisis, we need these programs more than ever. We simply can’t let the clock be rolled back for families.

Hope you get a chance to enjoy the weekend (and also to take a moment to send a note to Gov. Gregoire).

Best – Kristin, Katie, Laura, Marilyn and the MomsRising team

p.s. MomsRising will be featured on the national PBS show, To the Contrary, this Sunday at 11:30am on KCTS-9.

Read the full story rather than this one sided crap.

With a 3 billion shortfall predicted, there are going to be even more programs and probably more important programs left idle this year.

No one is repealing the law or stopping the program, but it is not going to be done by the original 2009 estimated date.

I am sure Rossi will be happy to push this program to the front of his list….

Right after instituting a state income tax to pay for it.
