CSWSParticipantAre you looking for a way to help what seems like insurmountable problems at Nicklesville? It’s easy. All it takes is a pair of RUBBER BOOTS.
I am at 9450 22nd Ave SW and Roxbury and am collecting rubber boots in ALL ADULT SIZES for men and women. You can drop them off anytime in the tub outside our door.
A dry pair of socks is sometimes all it takes to make it a good day! THANK YOU.

JoBParticipantThank You!
i was wading in Lake Nickelsville today and can tell you that those rubber boots will be put to very good use.

funkietooParticipantHome Depot has black rubber muck/work boots for $10 – $12. They are in an aisle near the lumber.

adelle1016ParticipantAbout a week ago I called our local Safety and Supply Company on East Marginal to see if they had waterproof shoe booties they were willing to donate. Today they called me and left a message and said they don’t have waterproof booties but they do have boots to donate. I do not know how many but if I can’t pick them up on Tuesday, I will do so on Wednesday(assuming they are available at the store location). I will keep the blog posted. I will make sure we post Kudos to the company for their care and concern. Thank you, already, to Safety and Supply on East Marginal!!

KevinParticipantHi, I was down at Nickelsville on Sunday and while their pump has done a great job – the whole area is still a very muddy quagmire. Thanks to all who may be able to help with boots.

adelle1016ParticipantThey always need unleaded gas for their generators.

munchkin22MemberAdelle1016 and CSWS: you rock. Thanks so much for filling this need.
January 24, 2012 at 5:22 am #745654
Garden_nymphMemberList some sizes needed please.
January 24, 2012 at 10:43 pm #745655
munchkin22MemberWomen’s sizes that we know of, 2 individuals, 7.5
and 8W. And 2 men, 9.5 to 10 and 10.5.
If you give us your contact info we can give you the names of the people so the boots can actually be donated to them and not into the general population. We got these sizes by asking people their needs and and sizes for shoes , boots etc.
Many more can use boots as well. Thanks so much

adelle1016ParticipantSee the Rave for Safety and Supply CO. Just picked up and delivered 16 pair of industrial rubber boots in varying sizes. These boots are amazing! It was fun running into munchkin22 just by chance….doing another good deed for Nickelsville folks.

Betty TMemberFantastic! Its so amazing how everybody justs keep coming through with help of all sorts. I know the boots are welcomed.
Anyone who goes to NV deffinitely needs to wear boots. I do when I go Saturdays.

munchkin22MemberJust got back from camp with more size needs, after the Adelle contribution.
Womens 10 or men’s 11
Men’s 10, 11, 12
Boy were they excited about the boots showing up.
BTW, the tide was rising between the west and east sides of camp. The pump will need to be run tonight.

CSWSParticipantI dropped off about 8 pairs of boots last night. Someone requested a size 13-mens.

Betty TMemberHope it won’t be neceaary to swim when I take lunch Saturday. I can’t swim! How miserable it must be for them.

miwsParticipantThanks, CSWS, and everyone else that has helped Nickelsville get booted up!
The gravel and bark mulch donated and delivered over the last several months has been a big help in alleviating the flooding.
The water gets pretty deep down there, but it would be so much worse without the gravel and bark, that I don’t even want to imagine what it would be like. :-(

adelle1016ParticipantI could be wrong but I think the last gravel and wood chip delivery was from Burien Bark, who responded in the ‘blink of an eye’ to a call I made to them. (8 and 10 yards of wood chips and gravel). We can’t always expect the same businesses to keep delivering so if anyone knows another source, I would be happy to make a call!
January 27, 2012 at 7:12 am #745663
KevinParticipantWhen I was last down there, they appeared to have about 5 yards of gravel, and perhaps 2-3 yards of wood chips. Appox 1/22

Garden_nymphMemberThere are many, “Free Bark-Delivered” ads on Craigslist right now. I suggest calling a few. As a friend of mine says, “Free is a fine price.”

KevinParticipantAnd… my favorite saying – “the answer is always NO until you ask.”
