Well, I’m guessing Tommy was “Click”, since they were generally introduced as “Tom & Ray”/”Click & Clack”

You are so right, Mike. R.I.P. Tom. I love those guys and look forward to listening on Saturday mornings (even though they are rebroadcasts). They are/were so funny and also so smart about cars.

I liked the live shows better if only they might refer to a car I currently own. Click and Clack were funny verging on corny. Ray struck me as the more serious of the two, straight man to Tom. I always appreciated their advice: “Turn the radio up and you won’t hear that sound…” or the various wives checking up on their hubby’s misinformed ideas. But they knew their stuff.

My favorite was the minivan owner who’d left (unknowingly) a turkey in the car while it sat over the Thanksgiving Holiday at the repair place. They recommended a bonfire, I think, to rid the smell of rotting turkey.

I will miss Tom and Ray the Tappet Bros (though Ray has a few more years with us I hope).
