I don’t even know how to say what I’m looking for! LOL!

Anyway, I have a picture window that needs the glass replaced… not framed windows, but just the insulated glass. I’m looking for any recommendations on the glass and installers. Help!

I know exactly what you want, we just did this. Our bathroom window had privacy glass but was the only window to the backyard so I wanted to replace the glass only, leave the frame. SUPER EASY. I got my glass at White Center Glass after they came out and did a free measurement and quote. They will install just the glass too if you want but it’s so easy to do it yourself. They’ll let you borrow a tool that looks like a pizza cutter at a 90 degree angle to the handle. This is wedged between the glass and the frame and it just separates the glue/tape holding the window to the frame. Once you slice through this, the glass will fall out. Then, clean off the leftover glue/tape with a putty knife, put new glue/tap called “butyl tape” (strong double stick tape) back where you just scraped the old stuff off of, then press the new glass onto that new tape.

Done! Well, to get to the glass before you separate it, you’ll prob. need to use a screwdriver to pry out some of the window decorative molding (don’t worry, it is supposed to be removable). Conversely, after the new glass is in, simply press these decorative moldings back in. The White Center glass person will show you how to do it yourself ironically when they come out to quote it.

    Hope this helps!
