Hi! We need to have a bit of work done on our townhome- cosmetic repairs to our balcony, a bit of interior woodwork repair, etc.- and I’d love some recommendations. I’m not sure if this is a big enough job for a full-fledged contractor, but I do want a professional job done, especially on the woodwork. Anyone know of a good super-handyman or small-job renovation team?

    Thanks! :-)

We always go with Ron Lane at Riteway construction. He’s a WS man and does great work

We have used Sean Tillman of Tillman Construction. He is a licensed and bonded contractor based in Seattle. It is just him, except for the occasional time he subs out part of a project. He does big things and small things, does top quality work, and is a joy to work with. Once people work with him he is their forever go-to guy. He slowly but steadily did our complete inside remodel, but when we needed an emergency railing after my husband’s stroke he was right there. And right now he is working on making a custom baby gate thing following my panicked call to him after our high energy new puppy began swallowing inedible objects and must now be kept out of parts of the house. He recently did some painting for a friend of mine putting her house up for sale. I hear nightmare stories sometimes about working with contractors and others in the home building and repair trades and I feel so blessed that I have found Sean. He lives in SeaTac, so almost West Seattle. His number is 253-229-5368.

We’ve never gone wrong with Chris Raynor at Raynor Custom Renovations. We’ve used him for large and small jobs and have always been happy with the results. Plus he’s a local guy.
