JeannieParticipantHi! I have two seriously overgrown trees (apple and cherry) in my yard. Can anyone recommend a good arborist – preferably one affiliated with Plant Amnesty? I can’t afford to spend a fortune on this, but it’s a priority for me.
ALSO, any recommendations for someone to clear overgrown bushes and other plants in my yard? The yard is small, but there’s also a lot of stuff (including invasive plants) to remove.
THANKS!July 18, 2017 at 6:25 am #889150
anonymeParticipantJeannie, I would recommend Grun Tree Care.
http://www.grunmeansgreen.com/They did some work for me last fall, good work at a fair price. They are listed with both Plant Amnesty and the City of Seattle (for street tree pruning). They also gave me a senior discount, so ask for that if you’re eligible.
Unfortunately, I’m out of the loop on residential yard care, so can’t help you there. Maybe Grun would know someone?

birdrescuerParticipantKen is very expensive. For the yard clean up I recommend Casa Latina. http://casa-latina.org/
you can order on line or by phone. They can often deliver workers or you can pay $5 for bus fare for a worker.
Specify if you need English speakers.
My experience has always been positive with responsible and hard workers.July 22, 2017 at 1:52 pm #889549
biankatParticipantI’ve used Out on a Limb for my last two tree pruning projects. Kathy and her team are fantastic! They aren’t the cheapest, and they aren’t the most expensive. Kathy knows her trees and is very knowledgeable on their proper care and upkeep. Definitely get a quote from them.

KatherineLParticipantYou don’t have to be a member to use Plant Amnesty’s referral services. Just google Plant Amnesty and click on Referrals. It’ll give you their phone number or email, and tell you what information they’ll need from you.

Talaki34ParticipantThanks for the recommendation jissy. I used Michael Oxman. http://Www.treedr.com. He and his son just happened to be in the area and were able to take down a HUGE quince with nightshade in it.
Great Job! Very satisfied!

jissyParticipantOh cool, Talaki34- I met him as a result of the West Seattle garden tour, he had generously donated a tree to the raffle I’d won. Really seems to know his stuff.

CurateParticipantAnother vote here for Michael Oxman (treedr.com). He and his son came over earlier this week and did some lovely work for us pruning large shrubs and super tall trees, as well as felling two trees that had grown too large for the spaces they were in and were posing access issues. I found Michael to be a really interesting guy, salt of the earth type who knows his stuff and works fast but responsibly. Fair pricing. Will be my go-to arborist from now on!
