    I don’t even have to go 7 blocks. I can fish for King Salmon right out of my back door!

    (Of course, there’s nothing but grass out there, but I can still fish, can’t I?)

    I’m happy cause later today I’m going to celebrate the first birthday of a beautiful girl who is the light of her parents’ lives.

    (and my own son finally went to sleep for his nap!)

    I have 45 different kinds of things blooming or coming into bloom in my yard, the seedlings I just set out are doing great in this weather, and a friend just came over and got my hedge trimmer started again. Yay Bill!

    I’m happy because I live in West Seattle and I can walk on a beach every single day. I’m happy because I know every neighbor on my block by first name, and I know their kids, and their dogs and cats, too. I’m happy because our next door neighbors are good friends and we shared dinner with them tonight. I’m happy because there are four seven year old girls within a block of us (one of them is my daughter). I’m happy because around every corner is a view of mountains or ocean. And I’m happy because I, too, love cupcakes. And coffee. And getting pedicures.

    Each time I read a thread like this, I’m thankful I live in West Seattle with neighbors that value joy. May you all live long and happy lives in this Westside land of plenty.

    I have a job that pays my bills, I volunteer with some of the cutest kittens ever (that are hopefully being adopted as we speak so there is room for the next group!), I sleep in a warm bed and I just learned hotdogs are good with cream cheese!

    I’m happy because we both have jobs that can support us, I have a wonderful hubby who’s my best friend, we have two furry kids that are the loves our lives, and this is the best community. We are within walking distance of at least 10 fabulous restaurants, we see the water daily, and our neighbors just invited us to a BBQ. LIFE. IS. GOOD.

    I am happy because my Mom is doing well and the sun was out for a while today. I am happy because I got all my plants planted today. I am happy because we have a great community on the WS Blog.
