thansenMemberOH the horror, I’ve had to wash dishes BY HAND for a week because my dishwasher was leaking! Couldn’t take it anymore so I did a quick search and found lots of great reviews for Scott Wiseman appliance repair. I called Scott and he was at my house an hour EARLY before the scheduled appt the next day. He had all the parts in his van and got it all done in about 30 minutes.
Great service and a great guy!

BonnieParticipantI have used both Scott and Mark Wiseman and was very happy with both.

kayoParticipantScott is great. He has talked me through stuff over the phone before and kept our old fridge working for a reasonable fee. I kind of wish the thing would die because it is old and stinky, lol. However, new appliances just do not last like they used to, so am glad he’s gotten us some more use out of the it.

sbreParticipantThe Wiseman’s are da-bomb, for anything new or needed repairs, and Scott is the epitome of excellent customer service!

KeithMemberWe’ve had Scott help us out with a variety of repairs and he’s always been very efficient. Glad to have him as part of our neighborhood.

WorldCitizenParticipantYeah, add me to the list of people who can’t say enough good things about this business. Professional, friendly and honest. What more can you ask for?

LibraParticipantDitto to the nth power!!!!

dobroParticipantI’ve had repairs from Scott, bought used appliances from Craig, and bought new ones from the store on California. The Wiseman family is the finest example of local, mom and pop bizness around these parts. Buy your new appliances at the store. When I’ve done so they’ve always matched or come close to matching the big box store price and the great service is worth a little extra.

miwsParticipantThat is an incredibly nice gesture that they price match, (or nearly do so).
It’s easy enough for a consumer to say: “Well, they better price match, if they want my business!” or, “They gotta do that, if they want to remain competitive!“
Fact is, the big boxes have the advantage of buying power. They can buy in large quantities, and even sometimes work out sweetheart deals with the manufacturer/distributor, such as being and exclusive seller of a brand.
Mom and Pops don’t have that luxury, unless they are part of a co-operative with other M & P’s.
I’d be willing to bet, that even then, they don’t get quite as good of a deal.
So, I think that this is a good thing to keep in mind, when asking for a price match, and the business declines, or is not able to match exactly, or beat.
The line between “staying competitive”, and going out of business by “giving the store away”, has to be pretty thin for them.

pattileaParticipantScott rocks, I have used Scott for 25 plus years. He has always come the same day, and always fair!!!

dobroParticipantTo me,the service and being able to support a local shop are worth paying a little extra. And, as I mentioned,in some cases they were even able to match the big box price. It’s nice to talk about something we all agree on!
July 9, 2012 at 5:16 pm #763152
miwsParticipantExactly, dobro, and I meant to touch on that point of your previous post, in mine.
Most consumers, I believe, understand and support that.
But, from my experience in retail, there’s always the occasional customer that just doesn’t “get it” even when reasons are explained to them, or worse yet, and sadly, doesn’t care.
They feel entitled to getting the absolute lowest price they can finagle, even if it badly hurts the bottom line of the store that they “love so much”.
Fortunately, those customers are few and far between.

IrukandjiParticipantWiseman guys ROCK. We had a part break inside our washer. Wiseman came out with the correct parts, showed me how to do the repair and left the additional parts with me so I could do the others on my own when and if needed.
Contrast this with the Whirlpool AUTHORIZED tech who, despite full info in advance and only one part needed, called me during the last 20 minutes of a four-hour service window to tell me he’d have to come look at the washer, then order the part – please pay by phone now before I arrive. The price difference and quality of service were both so much better with Wiseman.
We had a horrible time with A&E over a GE refrigerator as well a couple years ago. I won’t buy another appliance that sources A&E as their service techs.

WedgewoodMemberScott has done many repairs for us over several years, and has always put our best interests first when a fix-or-replace decision came up. And what’s more, all of the appliances they’ve fixed have STAYED fixed! And the price is always fair. Nothing but kudos for the Wisemans from us —

bsmommaParticipantI trust these guys enough to “leave the key under the mat” and let them do there magic alone in our home. That should say a lot! :)
