My yard has been calling to me to do some weeding and general clean up, but Summer and the sunny days have been yelling a little louder and getting all my attention. Someone on WSB recommended Casa Latina for yard work.

For $180 (including a generous tip) I got two guys for five hours. They went way above my expectations, they worked hard, followed directions well and even trimmed up some of the bushes and dead sword fern leaves.

Now I can enjoy the weekend guilt free and my neighbors won’t scowl at me when I get my mail. I will definitely use them again.

and those guys were extremely glad to be paid, I’m sure. There’s a lot of competition there for work. Daughter works for Nordstrom..one of their work projects last year was to go to Casa Latina and paint the building on the property…she said they had a blast, and the people were very nice. So, good on you :)

Indeed! I had a great experience with the work team Casa Latina sent. I’m glad they’re consistent.

Agreed! Meant to mention earlier, we used them to take out some horribly overgrown ivy that we inherited — literally, the ivy was taller than we are — and they had it all out by the end of the day. Plus they could not have been nicer guys!

Do you know if they have any tools that they provide for gardening work, or are you expected to provide tools for them?

It sounds great- especially if its possible to have them show up with tools to do weeding and pruning.

They showed up with gloves, but I was expected to provide the tools.

My guys had no tools at all, but I was asked when I called in if I could provide tools and lunch. I had them keep the gloves I bought and they were grateful to have a meal provided (just sandwiches and water).

With gloves, shovel, pitch fork and yard waste bags provided, these guys covered more ground in five hours than I could get to in a month.

Though they are initially dropped off, many take the bus at the end of the day, so lugging around gardening equip. just wouldn’t be easy.

Thanks for the recommendation. I left them a v/m yesterday and am so excited to hear back. They sound like a great organization.

I provided lunch, I was making it for myself anyway. It was cute when they were done, one guy asked me “where am I?” they needed to get back to downtown and I took them to the bus stop at 35th and Avalon.
