RAVE: Blackboard Bistro

We discovered this place over on California between the junctions recently and now we can’t stay away. The food is SO good!! The menu selections are really unique, and switch out frequently. We’ve had the celery root fries with blue cheese dip twice now, and they are amazing! And the desserts are just fantastic as well.

The owners are very nice, will come to the table personally and see how you liked the meal, and always take great care of us as customers. I almost hate to share my love of this place because I’m a little worried that they’re going to start getting crowded…but I really want my fellow WS-ites to know how good it is. I agree wholeheartedly! I love Blackboard Bistro, and would eat there more if my budget allowed. I’ve watched their business announcements with great interest over the years. I worry about them going out of business. Restaurant ownership is a hard gig. Blackboard bistro should be packed every night, and I sincerely hope it is.

After reading the original post I wondered where the place was. “Between the junctions”? Where is that? Morgan Junction, Alaska junction some other junctions?

So I click on the website looking for an address. Which I finally found buried at the bottom of the page. And I must say that’s one of the worser web pages I’ve seen. Grey print on a grey backround with some black splotches thrown in for good measure. Teeny pics of something too small to identify and these posted hours for your customer confusion:

Hours of Operation

We are open:

Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday evenings from 5pm-9pm,

Friday and Saturday 5pm-10pm

Sunday’s 9.30am-2pm

If this weren’t a local business run by what I am sure are really nice people, I would definitely post their webpage on Reddit r/crappydesigns.

And I’m still not sure which junctions we’re talking about here.

I’m sorry for the vague info, transplantella; I should have been more specific, but I didn’t want to make it sound like an ad for them. But you’re not wrong; in fact, I’m a designer and actually was musing as to whether they’d let me redesign their site in exchange for food! :)
