glocsonMemberI ate there on Saturday and gosh that place is neat and so cool. I plan on eating there atleast once a week. I urge everyone to go there and check it out. It was truly a great evening. Thank you Alki Homestead!

RonMParticipantAgreed! It’s menue hasn’t changed much (except for prices) since Mre Nelson passed away and her family sold it. I take out of towners there once in a while and we enjoy it a lot. It hasn’t seemed as busy as it once was, but I can’t tell much difference between the food and service.

elgregoMemberIt’s one of those places I always want to try out, but always forget about when I’m looking for someplace to eat.

bunnypugMemberI love the Homestead too!
Total classic spot-case in point-they serve jelly with their rolls, which I enjoyed with a nice dirty martini the last time I was there. Now the food is not amazing, but the setting is so old school awesome it makes up for the food not being stellar. A must experience.

andreaParticipantMy family has always loved the Homestead too! My dad worked there all through HS, and has a big soft spot for the place…we even had my brother’s wedding rehearsal dinner there last year, and it was the absolute best place for it! The food is sooo good, and the ambiance is so warm and cozy…I highly recommend it to people!

pamMemberWe’ve been going to the Homestead a couple times a year for over 25 years. It is a nice ‘going to grandma’s for dinner’ place. The only thing I miss is the gravy they used to have, used to be this great giblet gravy and the soup isn’t the same but the chicken, biscuits, green salad….all the same and very delicious.

guidosmomMemberI tried this place several years ago (like 15 years ago!) and remember enjoying it. I no longer eat meat though, but do eat fish. Do they have non-mean or just fish options?

pamMemberThey have prawns (fried) and I think salmon too.

bunnypugMemberThey do have fish. Salmon and maybe Halibut too. Theu used to have a website with a menu but apparently do not anymore. I think they offer Fettuccini Alfredo as a non-meat option.

glocsonMemberI know they just put a new item on the menu. I believe it’s a three-cheese macaroni. I think I will stop in tonight and have a bite. MMM! We should a locals night there….. Like a Wednesday or Thursday night thing, and really fill the old place up. Can you eat on the back patio?

AdmiralJanewayParticipantDo they still have takeout? I haven’t been there since the former owners, but their pan fried chicken was delicious.
