    This just made my day :) My hubby didn’t keep a journal while deployed, but boy did we write back and forth. I have all the letters saved and would be devastated if they were ever misplaced. So so happy for you and so glad to see a story turn out the way it should!! Equally happy to see all the helpful and generous comments! Cheers!

    Phil, next week works good for me as my Mom is going in for surgery tomorrow and will be in the hospital overnight.

    There always will be thieves. What makes West Seattle so special? Our thieves supposed to think like we’re cool and all let’s go somewhere else and steal instead?..lol

    This whole experience has made me realize just how lucky I am. I stopped by on the way in to work yesterday and rang gabby’s apartment to say thank you. Nonchalant as she was about the whole thing, I think she knows she’s awesome for doing what she did.

    Celeste, I will keep your mom in my prayers. A speedy recovery to her and hopefully you get some rest in the hospital.

    I’m serious about hosting a get together – we’ll call it community appreciation day, round 1. RSVP if anyone thinks they would be up for a bbq or whatnot, mid-week like on a wednesday or thursday. I want to make this happen!

    This is an awesome thread but I’m wondering why it popped up all of a sudden seven years after the initial post. . . .what’s up with that?

    By the way, I was getting ready to offer to help Phil out and I bet others were as well. West Seattle STILL rocks!

    2MW, my guess is that it was bumped up by Spam, which WSB subsequently removed, but the thread still stays in the bumped up location.
