GT1ParticipantVery hostile clerks demanded I leave after entering from elevator which had bold print sign stating store open until 8:00 PM. Couldn’t take a cart or sanitizer wipe. Had to protest loudly several times to get one item. Self checkout closed, had to get in line with other people. A closed checkout line person apologized and checked me out, was in my car BEFORE 8PM. Clerks guarding doors like gestapo not my idea of essential workers, just post the hours open, good grief.

birdrescuerParticipantThey are working hard and are the front line workers. So, a little rude. Cut them a little slack. Be kind yourself.

anonymeParticipantFirst of all, the title of your post is pure hyperbole, as you go on to say that a clerk opened up their register for the sole reason of checking you out. Nobody kicked you out as you claim, although by your own description of your behavior they would have had every right to do so. Was this clerk who bent over backward to accommodate your demands part of the “Gestapo”? You had to “loudly protest” to get ONE ITEM. Golly, it must have been an ESSENTIAL item to justify this hissy fit. It’s a shame when we’re seeing such generous behavior from so many to also see…the opposite.

gxnxParticipantMe me me mes…all about me me me
QFC does not need your damn business and you are too high maintenance.
Just stop B**&^ and move on.
Why don’t you take some personal responsibly and bring your own sanitizer?
Sounds harsh, you should be blessed that we have a good food supply.March 30, 2020 at 11:54 am #974707
GT1ParticipantWell they are always nice, I always love this store and the regular employees know me. Of course, I cut them full slack. But I often come in near closing and finish before closing. They are even that evening way nicer than trolls here. I don’t have sanitizer wipes to bring, do you? It was strange, something else going on. People were guarding the door, but I came down the elevator, reading the big sign stating store hours. The one clerk who refused my entry allowed me to pass once I said just want to grab one item, didnt even need a cart. Self checkout closed, one line left. The clerk who knew me reopened. I am thinking there are union tensions going on.

GT1ParticipantThe next day afternoon around 2PM there was uniformed security by the carts and also wandering thru the upper parking garage which you never see before, even at midnight. Sign still says open 8AM to 8PM. LOL but figure in 8AM to prob 7:30PM and follow that guideline. Those same people were there, and a new person. The one who refused me before I heard yelling “I’m on lunch!” so I am thinking they are short handed and its a management union issue creating this incident. Lots of carts, but no wipes or guy pre wiping them. New security guy standing there so other problems, next visit I will ask whats happened. I shared elevator with same clerk who helped me before but he was on the phone. It still is my fav store in W Seattle besides PCC, and I will continue to say thank yous and respects. And wear my nitril disposable gloves ;)

Michael WaldoParticipantAfter working a long shift, being in the front lines of being infected – yes, to arrive 10 minutes before closing is rude on your part. They want to go home. How did they know you were not going to walk around and show up at the check stand after 8:00. Closing at 8 pm means everyone done and out of the store by 8 pm.

2 Much WhineParticipantI am wondering what was so important that you had to go to the store two times in two days. . . . . and you felt ok taking the elevator with someone. Not sure that’s a “best practice” example of social distancing.

gxnxParticipantGT1 —like most of the people are all cope up and pretty isolated, so it makes senses to visit the stores for social interaction.

22bladesParticipantIt’s pretty universal. The folks want to go home after a stressful day with the general public. Let’s be nice, show up 15-20 prior to closing before they have to start moving the clock to “Bar Time”. Last Call!!!! Slam’em down!
