I don’t know what route you are planning on taking, but you also can have testing done by the psychologist (and maybe other processionals, as well) at your neighborhood school. You just need to contact the school and say you’d like to make an official referral. Even if the student is home-schooled or in private school. Yes there is a whole system of rules to follow, but it’s free to you, and they often use the same tests as a private evaluator. Also may be a good idea even if you get a private evaluation, if you are thinking you might like support through the school.
