dapuffinParticipantLast night/early this morning, around 2am, one of my dogs alerted on a possible prowler in my side/back yard and then up on my porch. He was a young caucasian man, thin, perhaps in his 20s, red hair/curly facial hair, light eyes and wearing a black baseball cap backwards. Claimed to be related to people who haven’t lived here for a few years (Karen & Greg – don’t remember the last name). Claimed he had been jumped and was being chased by somebody with a gun. My husband scared him off eventually,and we did have the police out looking for him, though I don’t know if they caught him. We live down the hill from new Westside School (used to be Hillcrest Presbyterian.) Wanted to give folks in the area the a heads up. He was shouting at one point for “Joseph” or “Josie.”
Please be aware and call SPD if you suspect somebody is casing the area.

WSBKeymasterIf you’re the person who texted about something similar at 3 am, I apologize that we didn’t message you back. We’ve been at slightly reduced capacity for a few days and weren’t monitoring the air at that point, though usually at least two of us are. There’s an incident # on Tweets by Beat (which are aggregated on the Crime Watch page) for “prowler” but no 2nd tweet (which usually comes with the report), so I’m guessing no one was found. – TR

Greystreet, yes, the police came out. Sounds like he wasn’t caught, though. 😢
