Our rabbit and hutch was taken this morning from the grass outside our house. She was out there on the fresh grass grazing and is a very much loved family pet. Please could whoever has taken her return her and her housing as soon as possible. Address 3278 41st Ave SW. Also, whoever took her exercise enclosure a few months ago, that was also wanted and would we would be grateful if you could return that also. Thank you!

Please tell me you’ve reported both thefts to the police…? If nothing else, you can report online.

Whoever would do something like this is the lowest form of scum.

emfavell, Sorry this has happened to you. :-(

If you haven’t done so already, you may want to contact the WSB Editor; editor@westseattleblog.com to see if they can include this info, (and a pic, if you can send them one), on the Lost/Found Pets Page.

These are a bit unusual circumstances beyond a normal lost pet scenario, but I’m wondering if there is a chance the thieves released your bunny, or perhaps she did/may escape from them.

Good Luck, I hope you are reunited soon.

We live down the street from the rabbit, it is MUCH more than a family pet, it was a neighborhood pet. I stopped with the kids every day to visit and pet the rabbit, his name is snowball!

emfavell…there is an ad posted in Burien on Facebook in the Burien Buy and Sell group of a big furry bunny. Here is the link…is this your bunny?

I have PM’d hm…he’s a punk kid from looking at his profile. I asked if male or female, if had a cage, and how much suggested price…we’re(a group I’m in) working on it

still working on it…someone may go pick up bunny tonight, and then we’d know the bunny was safe in the area…can figure out if it’s truly yours then, hopefully. I left a voicemail for you, too, emfavell…

That’s awful! Sounds like the same thing happened with the person with the gravel. Why do people assume because it’s in someone’s front yard that it’s free without a sign?! Crazy.

Wish there was a good wireless webcam we could all buy and aim out our front windows for situations just like this. Surprise no one saw this being taken.

sadly, it wasn’t Em’s bunny…but it has been rescued from what I would call a “punkass kid”…for a $20 ransom. It’s in safe hands now and will be fostered, adopted, or place in a rescue.

We really miss the bunny, I have a small childcare, and we used to visit with snowball daily, something the kids looked forward to. So said that someone took him.

Thanks Jan for trying to find him.

Snowball’s coming home!!!! Thank you everyone for all your support. A Good Samaritan had thought that she was abandoned. She’ll be back home on Sunday.

Are they returning the hutch as well?

I’m sure you’re just grateful to have her back, but there’s a real easy way to find out if an animal in a private yard has been “abandoned”.

    Ask.

But I’m glad she’s coming home, under any circumstances.

Should write a children’s short story on this crazy adventure! (You all know about the real story behind ‘Olive The Other Reindeer’ book don’t you? It’s about a real local dog). A short story on this could be a great teachable moment. I read a backstory on another WS page about the teen girls that took your rabbit.. if the story is correct. Congrats again, and enjoy the reunion!

@doglover; not for sure, but I think it was one of the WSea. Giving type sites, and where the other night some idiot had abandoned some koi or large goldfish in a bin on a busy corner with a sign saying help/free.. possibly that one. Anyway, somewhere in the thread someone had said some teen girls took the rabbit and the hutch, later one of the moms found the rabbit, was mad, and the teen girls were down at Alki bragging about the rabbit, some other teen overheard them and was familiar with this post, or the sign on the corner of Hinds or whatever and said the rabbit was not theirs to take and to return it. Don’t know how much of this is accurate, but it came up on a rescue of dumped fishes. If true, I really think the girls weren’t ‘mistaken’.. it seemed kinda mean and thoughtless. They should’ve asked permission. Again, I have no idea how much of this is accurate, also that they were to return everything on Sunday. Hope they followed up and bunny-hunny is back home!
