KenParticipantThis is a good essay explaining why 20% of the population are on board already and another 20 to 30% can be manipulated.

Anytime you do the math, you have to realize the potential for this type of disaster is never far in human civilizations, especially democracies.
The average IQ in this country is less than 100 by definition. Therefore you have a large number of the electorate who can be told what to think by those they see as their equals, who will never believe those who flaunt their education or intelligence.
Remember Bush was a moron who could remember names but mangled pronunciation, misused words and created malapropisms without working very hard at all.
We can never relax at fighting the mighty Wurlitzer of right wing propaganda.
I don’t like country music, but I don’t mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means ‘put down.’

JanSParticipanthey, I heard that it might be Cheney/Palin…wrap your head around that one – lol…
November 19, 2009 at 6:56 pm #682500
AshleyMemberBeck and Palin are not even remotely qualified to run our country.

GenHillOneParticipantFOX morning-show duo maybe?
November 19, 2009 at 8:49 pm #682502
SmittyParticipantNobody on the ticket has Community Organizer experience – so I don’t think Pelosi/Olbermann have a chance in hell.
Maybe a morning duo on MSDNC?
November 19, 2009 at 8:53 pm #682503
GenHillOneParticipantmaybe Smitty, but Sarah’s dropping hints of a talkshow left and right (no pun intended), so ya’ never know ;)
November 19, 2009 at 11:58 pm #682504
JoBParticipanti think we are going to get Sarah the talk show host… probably on FOX :-> After all, they already have Beck.
Sarah/Beck/Cheney the president?
Hopefully only in a sitcom.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
America, are you listening?

dawsonctParticipantDamn Ken, just as I was having a good laugh, you had to go and be the voice of reason.

I tell you what, if the Democrats continue to act like old-style Republicans (before they started to use the social wedge issues in order to get elected to plunder the treasury), they will turn off their base and and lose seats by default.
If the public is presented with two candidates, a Republican and a Democrat who acts like a Republican, they will elect the Republican.
–
Democrats, take heed, when we uphold the principles of the Democratic party and provide for the health and education of the American people, the whole country prospers. The most egalitarian, enlightened, and PROSPEROUS period for our country was the New Deal generation of the 50’s through the 70’s.
You know, back when we manufactured what we used, and didn’t borrow money from foreign powers to purchase it.

dawsonctParticipantJoB, I believe the saying, as I’ve heard it in Texas, or maybe Tennessee, is fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.
November 21, 2009 at 9:16 pm #682507
JoBParticipanti believe that democrats are going to have a little more interest in the candidates their party fields and that some current democrats are going to find they have a tough time making it through the primaries next time.
it isn’t enough to call yourself a democrat… to get re-elected, you are going to have to vote like one…
that said.. i too believe the democrats are wasting whatever political capital they gained with the american public in the last election…
it won’t be an easy fight.
