kmweinerMemberPosted this earlier under “older” women. Found some who could not meet during the day and others couldn’t meet at night. Let’s see if we can get a list here of who is interested and at what times and I’ll see if I can make something happen.

JoBParticipantkmweiner…
I am interested
and i am better with days
but i have to comment on this older bit…
I just admitted to myself that i have reached the mature stage at 60+
at 40 i was too busy kicking up my hills to contemplate being older ;->
i remember when women over 40 were considered older…
but these days it seems to be a matter of perspective.
some “older” women are just now starting families…
the one thing we have in common though is that life has tempered our expectations with experience…
and that can make for some interesting conversation.

kmweinerMemberI am 68 and very “young”. I struggled with how to advertise this. I just didn’t want a lot of young moms. I love them yet for my social time I wanted to be with women with wider experience. I’ll keep you in the loop.

AlkiRagdollParticipantI am 54 and have tried several book groups…. they either are not sustainable or the conversations seemed to gravitate to diapers and kids. The most recent book group was through MeetUp (if you are in your 20s and 30s there are tons on the social networking web through Meetup.com)… I was a good 20 years older than just about everyone, which was interesting and I may still continue with them; their worldview is just so different than mine.
BUT I own a business and have to work. Periodically I could do an afternoon, but not the date originally suggested.

FranciParticipantI’d be interested if you select an evening time to meet. I generally work till 4:30 or 5:00, M – F. Oh and I’m in my early 50’s. :)

elikapekaParticipantMe too – I have a very unpredictable work schedule, though, so I would just have to wing it on times – if I’m available, I’ll show up! I’m early 50’s and I appreciate what you’re trying to set up as far as not having the focus invariably go to kids.

librarianMemberI would love to join a book club with seasoned women. I am a 66 year old retired children’s librarian. Evenings would be best for me, but I could also make a daytime work.

kmweinerMemberOK. I am so glad people have responded. I want to suggest a meet and greet at Cafe Ladro on Monday March 14 at 7PM. Hopefully people will be able to get home from work and have a bite and then a snack, it they choose, at the cafe. If that time doesn’t work for you, send a message of times that work and we’ll try to incorporate that. I’ll get there early and be at the back where the sofa’s are. Kayla
